USSF Invites Applications to Host Next Forum
The Road to USSF-3 has put out a call for applications for sites for the next US Social Forum. The application deadline is Monday July 15, and we plan to announce the next USSF site by September 1. Consider whether organizers in your area are willing to be a part of this process. Click here for information on what it takes to host a US Social Forum and for an application form.
Members of the US Social Forum National Planning Committee will be participating in the following panels at the annual Left Forum in New York. If you live in or near New York, you may want to be part of these discussions and networking sessions!

The World Social Forum meets in Tunis, the city that began the Arab Revolutions, this week! From March 26 to March 30 more than 20 thousand people representing over 4500 organizations from 127 countries spanning the five continents have registered to attend.

The U.S. Social Forum addresses the most pressing concerns of our day, and the current climate of economic crisis, mass layoffs, and government spending cuts has made our work both more urgent and difficult. USSF National Planning Committee members have been reflecting on the goals and principles orienting our work together, and have updated and adapted some of the core principles that express the visions and commitments of people working together under the big umbrella of the US Social Forum.

The World Social Forum - Free Palestine (WSF-FP) convened in Porto Alegre, Brazil, at the end of November on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, a UN-recognized day that commemorates the 1947 partition of Palestine by the UN - and the occupation, dispossession and injustice that has ensued ever since.

The Afrikan Hiphop Caravan will visit politically conscious hiphop communities across the African continent in the lead up to the World Social Forum in Tunis March 26-30. The annual project aims to build bridges and share social justice and cultural resources among these nascent communities.
