Today corporate rule of our “so-called” democracy replays an age old process of raping of our environment, dispossession of our most basic human rights of water, food, shelter, healthcare, education and culture. Our economic and political rights are systematically dismantled and our environment is destroyed, with the advance of growing fascism while we live in a military state with our youth and most vulnerable people murdered in cold blood and in broad day light.
What will you give for a world we all deserve?
Is $25 or $50 enough? Are you able to give $100?
What does that world look like for you? We can create a new way, a new world. We can build a world that is cooperative. We can have a system that values humans over stock prices, people over profit. We can build an economy that is in harmony with our planet instead of poisoning it. Despite what the many misleading messages being beamed at us from every direction may say, we have the power. When we unite to use our collective power we can transform our planet and the rights of all living things on it.
In June 2015 thousands of people and organizations will convene in Philadelphia PA, San Jose CA, and Jackson MS along with other selected sites for the third U.S. Social Forum to host Peoples Movement Assemblies, workshops and convergences. We will collectively develop peoples’ solutions to the economic and ecological crisis. The USSF is committed in our struggle to build a powerful multi-racial, multi-sectoral, inter-generational, diverse, inclusive, internationalist movement that transforms this country and creates a new world. A world that ensures basic human rights and needs for all people. On the road to the USSF3 in 2014 there have been Peoples Movement Assemblies and the Regional Pacific Northwest Social Forum.
The PNWSF hosted approximately 250 people from OR, WA and CA. Participants collectively designed and created a “Peoples Plan for Social, Economic and Environmental Justice” for the Pacific Northwest that is connected to the larger US Social Forum movement process. The plan focused on Housing Justice, Food Sovereignty, Democracy, Labor & Green Economy, Media, Transit Justice, Hip Hop, Immigrant Rights and Treaty Rights. The Vision of the Treat Rights PMA offers us significant solutions to commit to this holiday season: “Make decisions taking into consideration future generations and Restoration of human values and recognition of our loving relationship to one another and Mother Earth.”
We must declare what we want our world to look like and we must start planning the path to get there! The USSF provides spaces to learn from each other’s experiences and struggles, share our analysis of the problems our communities faces, build relationships, and align with our international brothers and sisters to strategize how to reclaim our world. This work will take all of our effort and leadership!! Our time, our vision, and yes our money. Your contribution of $25 -$100 will support the 2014/2015 Road to the US Social Forum. Make your contribution to the USSF3 today!
